Job Responsibilities
The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina is seeking an applicant for an Associate Director of Admissions in the Admissions Office. Under minimal supervision of the Director, the Associate Director is responsible for the recruitment and admissions activities for the Corps of Cadets. Specific responsibilities will include:
- Develops, implements, and evaluates recruiting/admissions strategies for the Corps of Cadets with specific focus on the numerous campus visit programs and staff recruiting travel.
- Direct responsibility for the planning, coordinating and execution of all campus visits to include overnight program, Admitted Student Day and special programs/events.
- Manages the staff travel schedule to ensure participation at all appropriate high school college fairs and college recruiting programs.
- Monitors the effectiveness of the visit programs and travel schedules and develops, and prepares special reports as necessary in Slate for program assessment purposes.
- Oversee the supervision and training of student recruiting staff to execute the overnight program and special events be effective representatives of the college.
- Advises and coordinates with campus partners to establish a highly coordinated schedule for all on-campus programming.
- Directs management of designated prospect/applicant pool throughout the application process, to include conversion from prospect-to-applicant-to-accept status-to-matriculation.
- Provides counseling to students, parents, and groups on admissions policies.
A bachelor's degree is required. Extensive experience as an admissions officer recruiting undergraduate students is required. The ability to work collegially within the admissions staff is critical. Position requires strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Strong computer skills are required. The ability to travel and willingness/ability to work flexible hours will be required for completion of duties.
Preferred Qualifications
An understanding of The Citadel or other selective college admissions practices is a plus. A working knowledge of BANNER, Slate or another CRM is desired, but not required.
