Job Summary
The Clinical Pastoral EDU Intern offers spiritual and emotional support to Baylor Scott & White Health patients, families, and staff. This is done under the supervision of an ACPE Certified Educator. The CPE Internship can be a ten-week full-time program or a part-time program lasting up to twenty-six weeks. The program is accredited by ACPE: The Standard for Spiritual Care and Education and follows Baylor Scott & White Health policies.

Job Summary
The Clinical Pastoral EDU Intern offers spiritual and emotional support to Baylor Scott & White Health patients, families, and staff. This is done under the supervision of an ACPE Certified Educator. Essential Functions Of The Role
- Fulfills CPE requirements as designated in the ACPE Standards and the specific CPE Curriculum outlined in the Baylor Scott & White Health CPE System Student Handbook.
- Gains knowledge and experience through various educational and clinical assignments.
- A professional chaplain serves as a "Mentor" in the intern's spiritual care within interdisciplinary teams.
- Completes EPIC training and properly documents spiritual care and pastoral assessments and care within the EPIC templates.
- Receives assignments through a supervisor and works on their own under limited supervision to complete projects and tasks as assigned.
- Attend and participate in all CPE seminars and supervision weekly. This fulfills ACPE Level I Learning Goals and Outcomes.
- Knowledge of philosophical systems and religions.
- Knowledge of the methods and methods of spiritual care and the role of a chaplain in an institutional setting.
- Knowledge of the religious beliefs and practices of various faiths, groups, and denominations.
- Able to communicate thoughts clearly; both verbally and in writing.
- Relational and listening skills.
- Skill in counseling patients, family members and staff.
- Ability to counsel people during periods of stress.
- Ability to be inclusive and respectful of people who represent differences in faith, race, culture and sexual orientation.
- Enroll in or complete a Master's degree in theology or a related field at an accredited institution preferred.
- Denominational endorsement for chaplaincy, ordination or commissioning to ministry preferred.

- EDUCATION - H.S. Diploma/GED Equivalent
- EXPERIENCE - Less than 1 Year of Experience
