Job Summary:
Providing caring and responsible wheelchair and ambulatory transportation for patients to and from hospitals, nursing and rehabilitation facilities, dialysis centers, medical offices, and private residences for medical appointments and other events using a non-emergency medical transportation vehicle.
Qualifications:Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent. Valid Texas Driver's License. Knowledge of traffic laws of the State of Texas. CPR/First Aid Certification required.
Ability to read, write and speak clearly in the English language, think coherently under stress, and able to hear the normal level voice in conversation.
Position Standards:
- Able to operate the hydraulic wheelchair lift to safely load/unload patients.
- Able to physically step up and down, bend, stoop, and safely secure clients for transport, and be able to lift up to 100 lbs.
- Able to transport wheelchair clients on paved and unpaved surfaces.
- Have no more than two (2) moving violations, and no more than one (1) at fault accident within the past five (5) years.
- Possess the ability to understand and operate smart mobile technology, GPS applications, 2-way radios, and cell phones for communication purpose s.
Departmental or Unit Specific:
- Assist in the transportation of patients safely and timely to and from appointments.
- Follow schedule and report regularly to dispatch.
- Maintain vehicle interior and exterior.
- Complete all required documents and maintenance records clearly and accurately.
- Participate in training and educational opportunities.
- Demonstrate the knowledge of preventative maintenance on non-emergency vehicles.
- Maintains acceptable knowledge of city and county roadways.
