Repair/Overhaul Mechanic

Key Responsibilities

Repair/overhaul of Electro/hydraulic operated aircraft flight control actuators of varying complexity using common hand tools, torque drivers, torque wrenches, strippers, crimpers, electronic test equipment such as Hi-Corder, Function Generator, O-scope and specialized OEM tooling and equipment. Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in the English language, following directions, and work in various teamwork settings.

- Technicians must follow established procedures and component maintenance manuals, and customer EO’s to complete work in an efficient and timely manner while maintaining safe practices and high quality.

- Tests, disassemble, troubleshoot, inspect, repair, and reassemble Electrical and or Electro/Hydraulic actuators.

- Verify compliance with mfg. requirements using common inspection methods and specialized testing equipment to validate unit function in compliance with OEM technical data ICW FAA regulations.

- Follow customer’s special instructions and requirements.

- Set up and operate OEM specific tooling and equipment, in conjunction with use of external hydraulic power source.

- Documentation and Compliance: Complies with applicable manufacturing processes, work procedures, and supervisor instructions in compliance with AS9100 standards, safety protocols, and company procedures, including ESD (electrostatic discharge) precautions.

Required Skills and Knowledge

- Read and understand component maintenance/overhaul manuals.

- Read and understand drawings, wiring schematics and flow diagrams.

- Demonstrate the use of common hand tools, torque wrenches, micrometers, dial calipers, and multimeters.

- Ability to diagnose electrical/mechanical failures using OEM technical data.

- Problem Solving: Troubleshoot component issues and perform repairs or adjustments.

- Attention to Detail: Ensure products meet quality standards and specifications.

- Good Manual Dexterity: Proficiency in handling small components, crimping, stripping, soldering, wiring repairs, and precise use of test equipment ensure unit quality. application of torque using manual torque wrench or torque drivers.

- Lift, move, push, and pull up to fifty (50) lbs. on a consistent basis.

- Demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills in English.

Qualifications

- Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Experience:

- Vocational training in a technical/mechanical field is preferred.

- 1 year of experience in automotive, aviation mechanical, hydraulic, electronics repair or a similar role is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

- Ability to lift, move, push, pull up to 50 pounds, sit or stand for extended periods, bend, stoop, squat, or kneel and perform repetitive tasks.

- This position requires drug testing and criminal background checks in accordance with FAA regulations.

- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

DESIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

- Airframe or Airframe and Powerplant license preferred.

Work Environment:

- Manufacturing/production setting.

- Sitting and standing, lifting, pushing, and pulling heavy objects throughout the workday.

- Standard business hours, Monday - Friday 6:00-14:30

- Overtime as required

- Occasional Saturday may be required if needed to meet customer demand.

Safety and quality compliance are emphasized, including proper handling of components and adherence to company and industry standards.

Other:

- The position requires extensive cross-training on all products repaired/overhauled by the repair station. Additional cross training may be required in production to support the Mfg. operations.

- Perform other tasks as needed by direction of management.

Pay: Up to $29.00 per hour
