Customer Services Specialist
Location: Howell, MI (Onsite)
Duration: 13-Week Contract- with Possible Extension
Schedule: Full-Time, 40 Hours per Week
Pay Rate: Up to $21 per hour
Schedule
- Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Wednesday: 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- Friday: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to member inquiries via telephone, mail, and in-person interactions
- Research, investigate, and resolve customer inquiries, complaints, and appeals in accordance with established policies and procedures
- Educate current and prospective members regarding healthcare plans, benefits, coverage provisions, and product offerings
- Document all customer interactions accurately and maintain detailed records
- Monitor and manage outstanding cases to ensure timely follow-up and resolution
- Collaborate with internal departments and healthcare providers to address member concerns and service issues
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality requirements
- Identify trends and recommend process improvements to enhance customer satisfaction and service delivery
- Support enrollment periods, outreach initiatives, departmental projects, and other organizational objectives
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of recent Customer Service or Call Center experience within the last 3 year
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skill
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and computer-based system
- Understanding of healthcare insurance products, including HMO, PPO, and POS plans, as well as claims and billing processes
- Associate Degree required; however, 4 years of related customer service experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
