The Housekeeper is responsible for ensuring that all areas of the facility, including guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas, are kept clean, organized, and hygienic. The role involves cleaning and maintaining rooms, linens, and other areas to meet the organization's standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction.

WEEKENDS ARE MANDATORY. Looking for Weekend help.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean and sanitize guest rooms, including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, and ensuring the room is properly arranged.
  • Change bed linens, replace towels, and replenish guest amenities (soap, shampoo, toilet paper, etc.).
  • Ensure all surfaces are wiped down and disinfected, including furniture, mirrors, and countertops.
  • Empty trash bins and dispose of waste properly.

Cleaning of Public Areas:

  • Clean and maintain public spaces, including lobbies, hallways, restrooms, and stairwells.
  • Ensure all areas are free of debris, dusted, and sanitized regularly.
  • Replenish supplies in restrooms, such as soap, toilet paper, and paper towels.

Laundry Services:

  • Collect, sort, and launder hotel linens (sheets, towels, etc.), ensuring they are clean, fresh, and presentable.
  • Iron or fold linens and other laundry as required.
  • Report any damaged or stained linens to the housekeeping supervisor for further action.

Maintenance and Reporting:

  • Report any maintenance issues (e.g., broken fixtures, plumbing problems) to the appropriate department for repair.
  • Check for any missing or damaged items in guest rooms or public spaces and report to the supervisor.
  • Ensure that equipment and cleaning tools are in good working condition.

Health and Safety Standards:

  • Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and according to company guidelines.
  • Follow health and safety protocols to ensure a clean and safe working environment.
  • Ensure that rooms are prepared to meet hygiene and cleanliness standards for guest comfort.

Guest Interaction:

  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing any special requests or needs from guests (e.g., additional towels or toiletries).
  • Maintain a friendly and professional demeanor when interacting with guests or other team members.

Time Management:

  • Complete daily cleaning tasks within the designated timeframe, prioritizing efficiency and quality.
  • Follow the established schedule and cleaning procedures for each area.

Team Support:

  • Assist with cleaning tasks in other areas when necessary, such as during high occupancy periods or special events.
  • Communicate any issues or concerns to the housekeeping supervisor or manager promptly.

Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience: Previous housekeeping experience is preferred but not required.

Skills:

  • Attention to detail and a strong commitment to cleanliness.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks and move furniture, linens, etc.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and lift heavy objects (up to 25 lbs or more).
  • Ability to perform tasks such as vacuuming, dusting, and scrubbing for extended periods.

Working Conditions:

  • Typically works in a hotel, resort, or private residence.

May require shifts that include evenings, weekends, and holidays depending on the business's hours of operation.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $ $14.00 per hour
