Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Shop Assistant to join our dynamic team. In this role as a shop assistant, you will support a polypropylene pipe fabrication operation that is in the early stages of growth. This role will include hands-on work with pipe spool fabrication, preparation, layout, and fusion, while also supporting general shop and pump assembly needs as required. We are looking for someone who is dependable, safety-minded, willing to learn, and interested in growing with the business as our PP-R efforts continue to expand.
Responsibilities
- Assist with PP-R pipe fusion. Spool fabrication, including material preparation, layout, cutting, and fusion.
- Learn and follow proper PP-R fabrication procedures as the operation continues to develop.
- Assist with pump assembly and other fabrication work when needed.
- Use mechanical tools to trim and clean impellers.
- Ensure work is completed accurately, safely, and in a timely manner.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Assist warehouse operations during downtime, including organizing materials, staging orders, and general support as needed.
- Follow all safety and quality procedures.
Qualifications
- Consistent, reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
- Comfortable lifting 50 lbs on a regular basis.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and work on your feet for most of the shift.
- Must be a Team Player.
- Comfortable using powered tools.
- Ability to travel infrequently for initial PP-R training and updates as needed.
Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
