Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Shop Assistant to support the production of vinyl fencing. This role involves assisting with fabrication, assembly, material handling, and general shop duties to ensure efficient and high-quality fence production. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a manufacturing or shop environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the fabrication and assembly of vinyl fencing components
- Measure, cut, and prepare vinyl materials according to specifications
- Operate basic shop tools and equipment (training provided)
- Load, unload, and move materials within the shop
- Perform quality checks to ensure finished products meet standards
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Follow safety procedures and company policies at all times
- Assist senior fabricators or supervisors as needed
- Help with packaging and preparing fencing for delivery or pickup
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience in a shop, warehouse, or manufacturing environment is an asset
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely
- Basic measuring and math skills
- Strong attention to detail and quality
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Dependable, punctual, and willing to learn
