Job Summary
The Speech Therapist is responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating clients with speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders. The therapist develops individualized treatment plans and works closely with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to improve communication and quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Provide therapy for speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with regulations
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers on treatment strategies
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
- Participate in care planning and case conferences
- Ensure compliance with state, federal, and agency policies
Qualifications
- Current state license as a Speech-Language Pathologist
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred
- CPR certification (if required by state/agency)
- Previous experience in home health, hospital, or clinical setting preferred
