Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and responsible Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will operate various types of vehicles, including buses and paratransit vans, to safely transport passengers across designated routes. Your primary focus will be providing reliable, courteous, and efficient transportation services while ensuring safety standards are maintained at all times. Duties
- Safely operate commercial vehicles such as buses, school buses, and paratransit vans according to traffic laws and company policies
- Transport passengers including children, seniors, and individuals with special needs, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the journey
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of vehicles to identify mechanical issues and ensure vehicle readiness before each trip
- Communicate clearly with passengers, team members, and dispatchers using effective English or bilingual communication skills
- Manage behavior and ensure proper conduct of passengers during transit, applying behavior management techniques when necessary
- Maintain accurate logs of trips, mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance records
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing passenger questions or concerns professionally and courteously
Skills
- Proven experience in bus driving, commercial driving, or school bus driving with a valid CDL license
- Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse communities
- Knowledge of vehicle mechanics and basic mechanical troubleshooting to handle minor issues on the road
- Ability to work with children or elderly populations with patience and sensitivity; experience in childcare or senior care is advantageous
- Excellent driving record with a focus on safety and adherence to traffic regulations
- Demonstrated ability to manage behavior effectively in diverse passenger groups
- Strong writing skills for completing reports, logs, and documentation accurately
