Position Overview

Mystic Valley Regional Charter School is seeking a knowledgeable and dedicated History Teacher for Grades 7–12. The successful candidate will possess strong content knowledge, a passion for history and the humanities, and a commitment to fostering academic excellence in a structured and intellectually challenging environment.

Teachers at MVRCS are collaborative professionals who work closely with colleagues to deliver a rigorous curriculum, analyze student performance data, and continuously improve instructional practices. Essential Responsibilities

• Deliver rigorous, standards-aligned instruction in History and related social science disciplines.
• Develop and implement engaging lessons that promote critical thinking, analytical writing, and historical understanding.
• Design and administer assessments to measure student learning and mastery of course objectives.
• Analyze student performance data and use findings to inform instructional decisions and improve outcomes.
• Collaborate with department colleagues and grade-level teams to strengthen curriculum and instructional practices.
• Maintain high academic and behavioral expectations while fostering a positive and productive classroom environment.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with students, families, and colleagues.
• Participate in faculty meetings, professional development programs, and school-wide initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; degree in History, Political Science, Government, Classics, or a related field preferred.
• Strong content knowledge and enthusiasm for history and the social sciences.
• Demonstrated commitment to student achievement and academic excellence.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational, classroom management, and problem-solving abilities.
