Position Summary
Mystic Valley Regional Charter School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Classroom Teacher for Grades 4–6.
The successful candidate will create a structured, engaging, and academically rigorous classroom where students are challenged to achieve their full potential. The teacher will plan and deliver high-quality instruction aligned with the school's curriculum, assess student learning, communicate with families, and collaborate with colleagues to support student success.
Essential Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction using the school's designated curriculum and instructional model.
Effectively implement the Core Knowledge curriculum with fidelity.
Create and maintain a structured, organized, and positive classroom environment.
Monitor, assess, and document student progress on an ongoing basis.
Maintain accurate lesson plans, student records, and academic documentation.
Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners and implement required classroom accommodations for students with IEPs and Section 504 Plans.
Participate in professional development, curriculum planning, and collaborative team meetings.
Attend grade-level, Teacher Assistance Team (TAT), faculty, and IEP meetings as assigned.
Conduct parent-teacher conferences and communicate regularly with families regarding student progress.
Participate in Back-to-School Night, Open Houses, and other required school events.
Fulfill assigned morning, lunch/recess, and afternoon supervisory duties.
Support and uphold all school policies, procedures, and behavioral expectations.
Perform additional duties as assigned by school leadership.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required; Massachusetts teaching license preferred.
Elementary classroom teaching experience preferred.
Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
Commitment to high academic expectations and student achievement.
Must obtain required Massachusetts educator licensure and pass applicable MTEL examinations within one year of employment.
