Responsibilities
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to support daily instruction and classroom activities.
- Assist with classroom management and reinforce school-wide behavioral expectations.
- Support students during whole-group, small-group, and independent learning activities.
- Reinforce academic habits and classroom expectations, including attentiveness, engagement, and appropriate classroom conduct.
- Lead small instructional groups in reading, mathematics, writing, and spelling under teacher direction.
- Monitor student progress and provide targeted academic support.
- Assist with grading assignments and helping students correct and learn from their work.
- Supervise students during arrival, lunch, recess, dismissal, and other designated times.
- Attend required school events, including Back-to-School Night and other community activities.
- Participate in professional development and training opportunities.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by school leadership.
- High school diploma required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn and implement school policies, procedures, and instructional practices.
- Commitment to supporting student growth and success.
