Job Description
The Economics Teacher is responsible for delivering Mystic Valley Regional Charter School’s Economics curriculum to students in Grades 11 and 12. Instruction is aligned with the International Baccalaureate (IB) framework, emphasizing both rigorous content and effective instructional methodology.

This position reports to the Department Chair and is evaluated annually.

Job Description
The Economics Teacher is responsible for delivering Mystic Valley Regional Charter School’s Economics curriculum to students in Grades 11 and 12. Instruction is aligned with the International Baccalaureate (IB) framework, emphasizing both rigorous content and effective instructional methodology.
Responsibilities
- Implement the Economics curriculum with fidelity, including IB-aligned instruction where applicable
- Teach up to five classes daily, each meeting on a regular schedule
- Design and deliver lessons with clear objectives and measurable outcomes
- Assess student progress regularly and provide timely feedback, including progress reports and report cards
- Administer standardized assessments as required
- Collaborate with colleagues and leadership on curriculum, instruction, and assessment practices
- Maintain a structured and disciplined classroom environment aligned with the school’s model
- Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities
- Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned by school leadership
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics (required)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to analyze data, assess student performance, and adjust instruction accordingly
- Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to plan and deliver effective, standards-aligned instruction
- Commitment to upholding school policies and maintaining a structured learning environment
- Successful completion of applicable MTEL exams within one year of employment
