Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Paint Prepper to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing boat surfaces for painting and refinishing, ensuring high-quality finishes that meet our rigorous standards. Your expertise will help us deliver top-tier products that combine durability with sleek aesthetics.
Duties
- MUST KNOW HOW TO SAND AND BUFF PAINTED PARTS
- Perform surface preparation tasks including sanding, grinding, and masking to ensure optimal paint adhesion and finish quality
- Use hand tools, power tools, grinders, and airless spray equipment to clean and prime surfaces
- Apply masking materials accurately to protect areas not intended for painting or refinishing
- Maintain respiratory protection protocols and ensure a clean work environment during surface prep processes
- Assist with marine repair tasks such as minor dent removal or surface smoothing as needed
- Support auto glass installation and detailing processes to uphold overall quality standards
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to safety procedures
Requirements
- Prior experience in dealership auto body prep, auto restoration, or marine surface preparation is highly preferred
- Proficiency with hand tools, grinders, buffing equipment, and spray guns (including airless paint spraying) is essential
- Familiarity with automotive or marine painting techniques such as conventional spraying and surface masking is a plus
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling materials or boat components
- Good customer service skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment
- Mechanical knowledge or mechanic experience is advantageous for understanding complex surfaces and repairs
