Assistant Controller

MyStaff is partnering with a well-established client in Fremont to hire an Assistant Controller for a growing accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys being involved in the day-to-day accounting while also looking for a path into leadership. The opening is the result of an internal promotion, creating an opportunity to step into a collaborative, supportive team with room to grow.

This is an onsite position in Fremont, Nebraska.

What You'll Do

• Support daily accounting operations and month-end activities
• Assist and provide guidance to the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable team
• Prepare financial reports and account reconciliations
• Participate in budgeting and forecasting
• Complete multi-state reporting and related accounting activities
• Partner closely with the Controller on special projects and process improvements
• Help identify efficiencies and improve accounting processes as the company continues to grow

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
• Strong accounting foundation with experience in general ledger and financial reporting
• Advanced Excel skills are required
• Experience supporting budgeting and forecasting
• Collaborative personality who enjoys working with and helping others
• Strong communication and organizational skills

Bonus Experience

• Experience working through acquisitions or business integrations
• Process improvement or continuous improvement experience
• Previous experience leading projects or mentoring others
