Key Responsibilities
Payroll, Benefits & Compliance
- Oversee payroll and bonus administration, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for our PEO/EOR provider, coordinating contracts, employee changes, and resolving escalations.
- Manage benefits selection and administration, track costs, and handle compliance matters in partnership with the PEO/EOR.
- Maintain accurate, compliant, and audit-ready HR policies, employee records, and reporting.
- Proactively identify and escalate compliance risks, collaborating with external experts and vendors as needed.
Hiring & Recruiting
- Partner with leadership to forecast and plan hiring needs across U.S. and international markets.
- Standardize and manage the end-to-end hiring process for employees and contractors, from job request through offer acceptance.
- Collaborate with hiring managers and engage external recruiters (as needed) to meet hiring goals.
- Support direct recruiting efforts when appropriate; hands-on recruiting experience is a strong plus.
- Ensure a smooth, consistent, and positive candidate experience throughout the process.
Onboarding & Employee Experience
- Own the end-to-end onboarding process, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and a seamless new-hire experience.
- Lead initiatives that boost engagement and reinforce company culture.
- Manage the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, HRIS administration, and accurate employee recordkeeping.
Performance & Development
- Design and implement a structured professional development and performance management process.
- Provide managers with coaching, tools, and resources to support team growth and success.
Leadership & Culture
- Act as a problem solver and trusted partner, anticipating issues and driving proactive solutions.
- Advise leadership on reporting structures, workforce planning, and organizational health.
- Champion inclusion, collaboration, and innovation across the organization.
Required Experience
- 7 years of progressive HR/People experience, including at least 3 years in a Manager or People Ops leadership role.
- Significant experience managing the full employee lifecycle: recruiting, onboarding, payroll, benefits, employee relations, and offboarding.
- Proven ability to manage vendor relationships, coordinate payroll/benefits administration, and resolve employee escalations.
- Demonstrated experience creating HR policies, processes, or programs from the ground up.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Sound judgment with the ability to spot compliance risks and know when to escalate to legal or external partners.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear employee communications.
- Passion for building culture, improving employee engagement, and supporting organizational health.
Preferred Experience
- Prior startup or high-growth company experience.
- Experience in a fintech or technology-driven company.
- HR certifications (PHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent).
