About Us
As a Tissue Culture Lab Technician, you will work directly with in vitro plant propagation workflows, from explant initiation to rooting and acclimatization. Your experience with genomic workflows, such as sample prep, DNA/RNA handling, or genetic assays, will support our research and production integration.
Role Overview
As a Tissue Culture Lab Technician, you will work directly with in vitro plant propagation workflows, from explant initiation to rooting and acclimatization. You will maintain sterile techniques, track production data, and help ensure every plant meets our high-quality standards. This is a hands-on, detail-oriented role ideal for someone passionate about plant biotechnology.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform in vitro tissue culture tasks including explant preparation, subculturing, rooting, and plant transfers.
- Maintain sterile technique and follow lab safety and sanitation protocols.
- Prepare media, sterilize tools, and maintain clean workspaces.
- Monitor plant health, report contamination or abnormalities, and troubleshoot minor issues.
- Accurately record production data such as node counts, transfers, and survival rates.
- Track inventory of cultures, consumables, and lab supplies.
- Assist with acclimatization and greenhouse transfers as needed.
- Follow SOPs and contribute to process improvement.
- Collaborate with lab managers and other technicians to meet production goals.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Plant Science, Biotechnology, Genetics, or related field.
- 1–2 years of hands-on in vitro tissue culture experience preferred.
- Experience or familiarity with plant genomic techniques is highly desirable.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols consistently.
- Comfortable performing repetitive, precision-based tasks in a sterile environment.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced lab.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
