Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Equine Barn Manager to oversee daily operations of our equine facility. This role requires a strong commitment to oversee the daily operations of a horse breeding and training facility located in central Pennsylvania. The ideal candidate will have supervisory and horse handling experience, mechanical knowledge, and a passion for animal care, ensuring the health and safety of our horses while maintaining the efficiency of barn operations.

Duties

  • Supervise daily barn activities, including feeding, turnout, stall cleaning and health care of horses
  • Oversee the care and handling of animals, ensuring compliance with safety and welfare standards
  • Assist with veterinary and farrier appointments and oversee the scheduling thereof
  • Assist with foal watch and breeding operations
  • Log data for horse health and maintenance into the stable database
  • Manage inventory of supplies related to animal care and farm operations
  • Oversee staff or volunteer schedules, providing training in animal handling and equipment use
  • Implement safety protocols to prevent accidents

Experience

  • Supervising experience in a farm or equine environment preferred
  • Mechanical knowledge related to farm machinery, and maintenance is desired
  • Animal husbandry experience with horses or other livestock is preferred
  • Familiarity with animal care practices including feeding, grooming, health assessments, and handling techniques
  • Hands-on experience with lifting required for maintenance tasks

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $600.00 per week

Expected hours: 24.0 – 40.0 per week
