Vermont's best bagel shop is looking for the best bagel bakers!
Training pay of $21/hr plus increases with shown efficiency with potential bonuses! Myer's Bagels stands out from the rest because of how we make bagels...and it all starts with you. Unlike many other bagel shops, we hand roll and, in a true artisan fashion, baking our bagels in our customized wood oven. No proofing, no "press a button" and watch the carousel move in the oven...your skills start with making our unique dough, rolling the perfect bagel with your hands, managing a wood-fired oven, all while baking a golden-brown bagel and tossing into the "chute".
Bakers will be responsible but not limited to:
- Punctual arrival at 3-4am...perhaps earlier!
- Ability to start wood fire
- Making dough, lifting 50-100lbs comfortably
- Hand rolling bagel dough
- General clean-up and maintenance of area, equipment, and keeping to Code standards
- Standing for 6-8 hours at a time, working in front of high temperatures.
- Good, clean general hygiene
- Friendly, upbeat personality to interact with customers
