Pay: $14.96-$30.97 $140 per diem (non-local)
Duration: 2 year Contract
Shift Schedule: Must be willing to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shifts.
Overtime: No mandatory overtime, opportunities to work overtime available
LEAD is seeking Sheet Metal Mechanics to join our team in Newport News, Virginia!
Job Description:
Responsibilities will include:
· Ability to comprehend complex ventilation assembly drawings, blueprints, and sketches to include weld symbols, material types, datum and reference lines.
· Ability to comprehend fractional and decimal dimensions as with the use of a ruler.
· Ability to layoff piece parts for fabrication and assembly.
· Ability to assemble piece parts in accordance with specifications in a quality manner.
· Experience working in a physically demanding environment.
· Familiarity with OSHA regulations relative to the shipbuilding industry.
· Experience using small hand tools (electric drills, grinders, rivet guns), and shop equipment (drill press, press break, Shears etc.).
o Optional Skills: Rigger/Material Handling
o Mobile Equipment (JLG, Scissor Lift, etc.)
Requirements for this role include:
· Three years of experience as a first-class Sheet Metal Worker in the installation of foundations, ventilation, bulkheads, shipboard furniture and sheet metal fabrication shop work. (First class = 4 years of experience, total of 7 years of experience required)
· Ability to pass Hair Follicle drug testing.
· Ability to pass 10-year background check.
· Marine experience preferred.
· Aircraft/Industrial/Commercial sheet metal experience is acceptable.
Salary : $15 - $30
