Duties
- Supervise daily HVAC service operations, including scheduling and assigning work to technicians with construction experience and service technician backgrounds
- Oversee installation projects involving HVAC design, schematics interpretation, plumbing, electrical diagnostics, and refrigeration systems
- Conduct inspections of mechanical systems repair work to ensure compliance with safety standards such as EPA regulations and industry best practices
- Troubleshoot complex HVAC/R issues using tools like ohmmeters and welding equipment; diagnose electrical faults and mechanical failures
- Maintain detailed records of equipment repair, maintenance activities, and system performance; prepare reports for management review
- Coordinate with property managers and clients to schedule routine maintenance visits and emergency repairs promptly
- Ensure all team members adhere to safety protocols related to ammonia refrigeration, boiler operation, and building automation systems
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction, HVAC service technician roles or similar fields with a focus on mechanical systems repair
- Strong knowledge of HVAC design principles, schematics reading, electrical diagnostics, plumbing systems, and refrigeration technology
- Familiarity with building automation systems (BAS) and HVAC/R controls for efficient system management
- Valid EPA certification for refrigerant handling; experience working with ammonia refrigeration is a plus
- Mechanical knowledge encompassing boiler operation, appliance repair, welding skills, and property maintenance tasks
- Ability to operate diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters; proficiency in equipment repair and mechanical troubleshooting
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience operating
driver vehicles preferred - Excellent communication skills combined with leadership ability to guide field service teams effectively
