Hands-On Trailer Technician (2nd Shift Lead)

We are a stable, growing company with multiple openings, looking for a Lead Trailer Technician to be a key leader on our 2nd shift. This is not a desk job. This is a hands-on role for a skilled tech who is ready to lead by example, mentor a team, and run the shop floor.

Your Role as the Lead Technician:
- Lead the Shop Floor: Run the day-to-day flow of work for the 2nd shift, making assignments and ensuring work is done safely and efficiently.
- Perform Hands-On Repairs: Actively work on your own trailer repairs, including fabrication, grinding, bodywork, and routine welding.
- Mentor the Team: Train newly hired technicians on shop processes, procedures, and safety. Be the primary expert for tough diagnostics.
- Manage Workflow: Work with the manager to ensure equipment repairs are on schedule, parts are monitored, and repair orders are accurate.
- Champion Safety: Be responsible for ensuring all technicians operate within DOT and OSHA guidelines.
What We're Looking For:
Experience:
- 3 years of lead or supervisory experience in a heavy-duty shop. T
- 3 years of hands-on trailer repair/maintenance experience.
- Strong Mechanical Abilities: Fabrication, Grinding/Body Work, Routine Welding
- Expert troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Team Player: Strong work ethic and good communication skills.
- An Associate's degree in Mechanics, Welding, or a related field is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, lift up to 100 lbs, and have your own steel-toe boots.

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
