Duties
- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards, including literacy, math, physical education, and social-emotional learning
- Create a safe, inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, independence, and respect among children
- Manage daily classroom activities, ensuring smooth transitions and effective behavior management strategies
- Communicate regularly with parents about their child's progress, milestones, and any concerns to foster strong home-school partnerships
- Supervise and mentor assistant teachers or teaching aides to ensure high-quality instructional support
- Maintain compliance with mandated reporting laws and ensure adherence to health and safety regulations such as first aid and CPR certifications
- Collaborate with specialists in special education or early intervention when supporting children with diverse learning needs or developmental delays
Skills
- Proven experience working with children in early childhood settings or preschool environments
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and age-appropriate teaching methods
- Expertise in curriculum development, lesson planning, and classroom management techniques
- Ability to effectively communicate with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners
- Familiarity with behavior management strategies that promote positive behavior and social skills
- Experience teaching physical education, literacy education, math concepts, or tutoring young learners is highly valued
- Knowledge of mandated reporting laws related to child welfare and safety protocols
