Overview

Kid Angles is seeking an experienced, dependable, and engaged Lead Preschool Teacher to join our preschool team.

We are looking for more than someone who can manage a classroom. We want an educator who genuinely enjoys learning alongside young children. The ideal candidate can build strong relationships, create an inviting classroom environment, recognize learning opportunities in children's everyday play, and use children's interests to help guide meaningful curriculum experiences.

Scheduling will be discussed during the interview process, and we have some flexibility for an exceptional candidate who is a strong fit for our program and team.

As a Lead Preschool Teacher, you will:

• Build warm, responsive, and respectful relationships with preschool-aged children. (3-4 year olds)
• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate, play-based learning experiences based on children's interests, developmental needs, and classroom goals.
• Create and maintain an engaging classroom environment that encourages independence, exploration, creativity, problem-solving, and collaboration.
• Observe children regularly and use observations, documentation, and developmental assessments to guide curriculum and individual goals.
• Support children's social-emotional development through positive guidance, modeling, problem-solving, and consistent classroom expectations.
• Facilitate both child-led and teacher-supported small-group, large-group, and individual learning experiences.
• Encourage children's independence in classroom routines, self-help skills, problem-solving, and care of their environment.
• Communicate regularly and professionally with families about children's experiences, development, accomplishments, and needs.
• Work collaboratively with co-teachers, support staff, and program leadership.
• Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and welcoming classroom in accordance with Indiana child care licensing requirements and program policies.
• Participate in professional development, staff meetings, classroom planning, and ongoing program improvement.
• Provide active supervision and participate alongside children throughout the day, including during indoor and outdoor play.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Associate degree, bachelor's degree, CDA Credential, or college coursework in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field.
• Previous experience as a Lead Teacher or primary classroom teacher.
• Experience planning developmentally appropriate curriculum and documenting children's learning.
• Previous experience working with young children in a professional early childhood setting
• Ability to meet all Indiana childcare licensing requirements, including required background checks, health documentation, and training.
• Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to provide active supervision and meet the physical demands of working in an early childhood classroom.
• Dependable attendance and the ability to maintain a consistent work schedule.
• Familiarity with play-based, project-based, or Reggio Emilia-inspired approaches to learning.
• Knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practice.

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
