The Nursing Instructor will help develop and deliver education for nurses, clinical staff, and healthcare professionals. This may include new hire orientation, continuing education, competency support, policy education, documentation training, quality-focused learning, and updates related to patient care standards and organizational procedures.
This position is designed to be accessible to qualified nursing professionals with strong clinical knowledge, communication skills, and an interest in education. Prior nurse educator experience is helpful, but candidates with experience as a preceptor, trainer, mentor, charge nurse, clinical lead, or staff development resource are also encouraged to apply.
- Develop, update, and deliver nursing education materials, training guides, presentations, and clinical learning resources.
- Support orientation, continuing education, competency development, and professional development programs for nursing and clinical teams.
- Create clear and practical remote learning experiences using virtual meeting tools, presentations, written materials, and learning platforms.
- Provide education on clinical standards, patient care practices, documentation expectations, quality measures, compliance topics, and organizational policies.
- Collaborate with nursing leadership, clinical operations, quality teams, compliance staff, and subject matter experts to identify education needs.
- Help evaluate learner understanding, participation, competency progress, and training effectiveness through feedback, assessments, and program review.
- Provide coaching and support to nurses and clinical staff as they apply education to everyday practice.
- Maintain accurate training records, attendance information, competency documentation, and education-related reports.
- Assist with education related to patient safety, care coordination, documentation accuracy, and evidence-based nursing practice.
- Participate in ongoing review and improvement of education programs to keep content accurate, useful, and relevant.
- Active Registered Nurse license.
- 2–5 years of nursing experience preferred; candidates with strong clinical experience and an interest in education are encouraged to apply.
- Experience teaching, training, mentoring, precepting, presenting, or helping clinical staff learn new information.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain clinical information clearly to varied audiences.
- Good organizational skills, attention to detail, and comfort managing multiple education-related tasks.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment and participate in virtual meetings and training sessions.
- Comfort using common business and communication tools such as Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, video conferencing platforms, or similar systems.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
- Nursing education coursework, especially coursework related to curriculum development, preferred.
- National League for Nursing Certified Nurse Educator credential preferred.
- Experience with online or remote education programs helpful.
- Familiarity with adult learning principles, competency-based education, instructional design, or learning management systems helpful.
- Experience supporting quality improvement, clinical documentation education, compliance training, or patient safety initiatives helpful.
