Duties
- Lead and supervise nursing staff to ensure high-quality resident care across all departments, including assisted living, home health, hospice, and acute care settings
- Develop, review, and update individualized care plans for residents in accordance with medical records and documentation review standards
- Oversee the management of medical records using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to implement resident-specific care strategies that promote health and safety
- Monitor shift management to ensure adequate staffing levels while maintaining regulatory compliance with Medicare and other funding sources
- Conduct regular audits of medical documentation, review MDS (Minimum Data Set) assessments, and ensure accurate coding for reimbursement purposes
- Provide leadership in nursing administration by managing budgets, staffing schedules, and training programs to foster professional growth
- Ensure all nursing practices adhere to medical terminology standards, physiology knowledge, anatomy principles, and safety protocols
Experience
- Proven experience in nursing management within assisted living communities or nursing homes with supervising responsibilities
- Extensive background in home health services or hospice care environments is highly desirable
- Demonstrated expertise in acute care settings with a focus on resident-centered approaches
- Strong knowledge of EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems and EHR systems for documentation management
- Familiarity with Medicare regulations, care plans development, and documentation review processes
- Leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams, manage shifts effectively, and oversee nurse management functions
- In-depth understanding of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and HIPAA compliance standards
- Prior experience managing nursing staff within regulated healthcare environments is essential
