The Project Manager will support the planning, coordination, and execution of multiple projects in a cross-functional environment. This role is responsible for tracking progress, facilitating team collaboration, and ensuring projects are aligned to defined timelines, scope, and project expectations. This role will report to the Senior Director of PMO.
Position Responsibilities
- Manage multiple projects in parallel with guidance from senior team members when appropriate
- Drive regular project team meetings; capture actions, owners, and updates, and operate effectively under ambiguity in a fast-paced environment
- Identify, risks and issues, escalate as needed, and support mitigation efforts
- Coordinate and facilitate regular project team meetings; capture action items, owners, and updates
- Ensure compliance with project governance, processes, and contractual requirements
- Plan, monitor and control project timeline, scope and quality, flagging deviations from plan
- In collaboration with Finance, define, monitor and reconcile project budgets and spend plans
- Continually communicate project status to stakeholders with risks, deviations to baseline, and mitigation plans
- Solicit and archive project lessons learned during the project and post-mortem
- Support change management processes by documenting scope changes and impacts
- Utilize project management tools and systems to track progress and maintain records
- Execute project coordination or administrative tasks as needed
- Assist with other tasks as required
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent relevant experience
- 2 years of project management experience with small to medium sized projects
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interface with the executive levels of both MxD and MxDs’ commercial academic, and government partners.
- Strong risk assessment, problem solving, and corrective action capabilities
- Self-driven with the ability to work under ambiguity in a highly dynamic environment
- Adherence to project governance and contractual compliance
- Knowledge of maintaining project budgets and forecasts
- Strong stakeholders’ management skills, including conflict resolutions and expectation management
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams without direct authority
- Proficient with MS Office and willingness to learn and adapt to other Project Management tools
- Government project and contracting experience preferred
- PMP certification preferred
