The Program Manager is accountable for end-to-end delivery of a complex, multi-workstream platform—from strategy approval through launch and sustained adoption. This role converts Product Management’s vision and business objectives into an integrated, multi-phase program roadmap with explicit dependencies, milestones, governance, and delivery timelines. As the owner of program execution and health, the Program Manager leads cross-functional planning and executive forums, manages sequencing and tradeoffs across workstreams, and ensures the platform is operationally ready, adopted by users, and delivers measurable business outcomes.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end delivery of the platform across all business and technical workstreams, from strategy approval through launch and adoption.
- Translate Product-owned vision and priorities into an integrated, multi-phase roadmap with milestones, dependencies, and delivery timelines.
- Orchestrate cross-team execution so initiatives ship as a cohesive platform, with aligned scope, timing, and operational readiness.
- Manage cross-workstream dependencies, sequencing, and constraints; surface impacts early and drive decisions that protect critical paths.
- Lead program governance (steering committees, executive reviews) with concise, decision-oriented updates, options, and recommendations.
- Own program-level risk and issue management: define mitigation plans, monitor execution, and escalate blockers with clear impact statements.
- Continuously maintain and re-baseline the integrated roadmap based on business priority changes, capacity, delivery learning, and readiness needs.
- Partner with Product Management to align execution to roadmap intent while Product retains ownership of vision, requirements, and backlog prioritization.
- Drive operational readiness, change management, and enablement plans so teams can support launch, adoption, and scaled operations.
- Provide program-level financial oversight with Finance, including forecasting, budget risks, and variance drivers tied to delivery plans.
Experience and Educational Requirements:
- Proven experience owning end-to-end delivery of a complex platform across 10 interdependent workstreams, including dependency management, tradeoffs, and executive governance.
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent practical experience) in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; program/project management certification preferred (e.g., PMP, PgMP, CSM/PSM, SAFe).
- Track record delivering initiatives through launch, operational readiness, and adoption in regulated and/or operationally complex domains (e.g., B2C commerce, healthcare, veterinary, pharmacy-adjacent).
- Experience managing program-level financials, capacity, and delivery constraints in partnership with Finance and functional leaders.
- Experience effectively using communication and organizational tools, to include Smartsheet, Jira, Confluence and Aha!, to keep stakeholders engaged and up to speed.
Minimum Skill, Knowledge and Ability Requirements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Advanced skills in leading client discussions with proven success in facilitating consensus on priorities and the path forward.
- Demonstrated ability to clearly present strategy and solution concepts to executives, sales teams and customers.
- Skilled in conflict management.
- Well versed in finance and accounting core concepts and principles.
- Able to prepare a complex master schedule inclusive of dependencies and resourcing.
