SUMMARY:
Make tooling used to produce products or whole machine tools used to manufacture, hold, or test products during their fabrication. May fabricate custom tools or modify standard tools.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This role does not have supervisory responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work from engineering drawings to lay out the design on the raw material then cut it to size and shape using manually controlled machine tools (such as lathes, milling machines, grinding machines, and jig grinders), power tools (such as die grinders and rotary tools), and hand tools (such as files and honing stones). Will work independently on projects.
- Assist production by communicating tooling issues
- Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing results with accuracy and timeliness.
- May be called upon to assist in other duties as needed to ensure quality level of facility activities.
- Responsible for all customer specific requirements where applicable, including those referenced in Quality manuals.
- Any/all other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Required
- Must have High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 2 years Tool Maker/Machinist
- Experience reading engineering drawings
- Demonstrated math skills and computer literacy
- Certification in the metal trades industry.
Desired
- Experience in carbide dies
