What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tool and Die Intern position at MW Components?
Job Summary:
The Tool and Die Maker Trainee will work to precise tolerances to build stamping and forming dies used in the manufacture of Springs and Bellevilles.
Essential Job Functions:
- Study blueprints, sketches, models, or specifications to plan sequences of operations for fabricating tools, dies, or assemblies.
- Fit and assemble parts to make various dies and tools, using machine tools and hand tools.
- Inspect finished dies for contour conformity and defects.
- Set up and operate conventional machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders to cut, bore, grind, or otherwise shape parts to prescribed dimensions and finishes. (Some experience required)
- Set up and operate drill presses to drill and tap holes in parts for assembly.
- Smooth and polish flat and contoured surfaces of parts or tools, using scrapers, abrasive stones, files, emery cloths, or grinders.
- Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts for conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers, and dial indicators.
- Must be mechanically inclined.

Engineering Manager
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings
- Ability to work to close tolerances
- Ability to lift-up to 50 lbs.
- Mathematically proficient
Education and Experience:
- 1-2 years of relevant work experience in a Technical High School.
- High School Diploma
