Essential Responsibilities
Safety Leadership
· Promote and maintain a safe work environment on all shifts.
· Conduct daily safety audits and address unsafe conditions immediately.
· Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
· Lead accident investigations and implement corrective actions.
· Conduct monthly safety meetings and employee training.
Production Management
· Manage powder coating operations across all three shifts.
· Ensure daily production schedules are achieved.
· Monitor line speeds, throughput, labor utilization, and efficiency.
· Coordinate manpower requirements to support production demands.
· Review shift handoff communications to ensure operational continuity.
· Minimize downtime and production interruptions.
Quality Management
· Ensure products meet customer specifications and quality requirements.
· Monitor coating thickness, cure schedules, adhesion, and appearance standards.
· Support corrective actions related to customer complaints and internal defects.
· Partner with Quality Department on root cause analysis and process improvements.
· Ensure all quality documentation is completed accurately.
Equipment and Maintenance
· Coordinate preventive maintenance activities with the Maintenance Department.
· Monitor performance of:
o Powder Booth Systems
o Powder Recovery Systems
o Spray Guns
o Conveyor Systems
o Ovens and Cure Systems
· Escalate equipment issues to minimize production losses.
· Participate in equipment upgrades and capital improvement projects.
Environmental Controls
· Monitor powder storage conditions.
· Ensure powder room temperature and humidity remain within approved limits.
· Maintain proper powder handling and inventory control practices.
· Ensure powder contamination prevention procedures are followed.
· Monitor environmental conditions affecting coating performance.
Leadership and Employee Development
· Directly supervise Manufacturing Leads and Powder Coating Operators.
· Conduct employee coaching, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions.
· Develop training plans for new and existing employees.
· Maintain skill matrices and cross-training programs.
· Promote employee engagement and accountability.
Continuous Improvement
· Lead Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
· Identify and eliminate waste using Lean principles.
· Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs).
· Facilitate 5S activities throughout the department.
· Drive productivity and cost reduction projects.
Reporting and Communication
· Prepare daily production reports.
· Review downtime reports and lost production opportunities.
· Conduct shift turnover meetings.
