Position Summary
The Senior Electrical Project Manager will oversee a portfolio of commercial electrical construction projects from award through closeout while providing leadership and mentorship to Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers. This role serves as a key escalation point for project-related challenges and plays an integral role in preconstruction planning, bid strategy, and overall project success.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple commercial electrical construction projects simultaneously at various stages of completion.
- Own a portfolio of projects ranging from small service work to approximately $6 million in value.
- Lead projects from contract award through final closeout.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for project-related issues and resolutions.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards.
- Prepare and manage RFIs, change orders, project documentation, and detailed project reports.
- Review contracts and project documents to ensure scope accuracy and risk mitigation.
- Prepare monthly billings, schedules of values (SOVs), forecasting, and cost reports.
- Negotiate contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, and vendor agreements.
- Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving solutions.
- Interpret and review architectural, structural, and electrical plans and specifications.
- Provide technical guidance and support to field personnel and project teams.
- Review submittals for accuracy and coordinate submissions with design teams.
- Evaluate vendor and subcontractor proposals for completeness and compliance.
- Ensure installations comply with project specifications, NEC requirements, safety standards, and company quality expectations.
- Supervise, mentor, and support Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers.
- Foster collaboration between project management, field operations, and executive leadership.
- Promote MV Power Solutions' culture of professionalism, accountability, and teamwork.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with General Contractors, owners, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
- Play an integral role in preconstruction planning, budgeting, and bid strategy.
- Participate in kickoff meetings, project planning sessions, and ongoing site meetings.
- Collaborate with field leadership regarding project schedules, manpower planning, and construction sequencing.
- Conduct site visits and safety evaluations throughout project lifecycles.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of Electrical Project Management experience required.
- Previous experience leading or supervising Project Managers and/or project teams.
- Strong knowledge of commercial electrical systems, materials, and installation methods.
- Proven track record of successfully managing projects on schedule and within budget.
- Advanced ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and technical documents.
- Comprehensive understanding of commercial construction processes and project controls.
- Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience with Accubid Estimating software preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $125,000 - $160,000 annually, depending on experience
