Location: Hybrid position with approximately 15% travel required.
Hiring Range: $153,915 - $184,747*
Salary Range: $153,915 - $218,716

What You’ll Do
- Lead underwriting strategy across commercial, farm, and personal lines to support profitable growth and the right mix of business.
- Partner closely with leaders across the company to spot trends, solve problems, and strengthen processes.
- Coach and develop underwriting managers and teams, building a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Drive underwriting excellence through clear guidelines, authority, audits, and operational best practices.
- Use data and market intelligence to guide decisions, improve customer and agency experience, and stay competitive.
- Support product development and market expansion efforts in collaboration with Marketing, Claims, and other teams.
What We’re Looking For
- 10 years of progressive underwriting experience, including 5 years in Commercial Package and/or Commercial Agribusiness underwriting (BOP-only experience doesn’t meet this requirement).
- 7 years leading teams, with a track record of mentoring, succession planning, and building engagement.
- Deep knowledge of the commercial lines marketplace, insurance regulations, contracts, and pricing dynamics.
- Strong analytical mindset and comfort using data to tell a clear performance story.
- A steady, collaborative leadership style and the ability to influence across functions.
- Excellent communication skills, including presenting to executives and partners.
- Bachelor’s degree required (Insurance, Risk Management, Math/Stats, Finance, Economics, Business, or similar).
- CPCU, CIC, AFIS, ARM, or similar designations are a plus.
