The Tapps Island Association is seeking a highly motivated individual to serve in a newly created role as our Facilities Director. The ideal candidate for this position excels at communication, customer service and leadership. We are looking for a person with prior experience in leadership, facility maintenance, contractor management, long-range planning and finance. Your team will include direct reports from both staff and contactors, with a range of responsibilities including golf course maintenance, building/facility maintenance, water system management and overall community upkeep and beautification.As a director, you will be joining the Association's management team and reporting directly to the General Manager. You will be responsible for providing your expertise from a facility management and planning perspective on many issues impacting our community. Your duties would include the day-to-day management of staff and contractor service providers, developing best practices and policy for the team, managing your budget, providing recommendations for equipment and process improvement to the general manager and board of directors. Our community owns a clubhouse, fitness center, swimming pool, private water system, nine-hole golf course, 7 miles of road and a large amount of landscaping...all of which needs to be kept beautiful year-round.DutiesOversee the daily operations of the facilities, including oversight of in house staff and contracted partners.Creation of annual scheduling for the upkeep of all aspects of our infrastructure.Have the ability to perform hands-on tasks as needed, including operating equipment, minor repairs and inspections (need to be willing and able to pitch in when needed).Manage maintenance management processes to track work orders, facilities needs and inventory.Supervise and lead a team of maintenance personnel, providing guidance and support in their daily tasks.Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.Collaborate with project management teams on facility upgrades, renovations, and new construction projects.Maintain accurate schematics for all facility systems to support troubleshooting and repairs.Utilize mechanical knowledge to diagnose issues related to industrial maintenance effectively.Foster a culture of safety within the team by conducting training sessions on best practices in maintenance and operations.ExperienceProven experience in facilities management or a related field is required.Strong supervisory experience with demonstrated leadership skills in managing teams effectively.Proficiency in maintenance management practices, including knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical systems, roadway and parking lot upkeep, golf course operations, water system operations, septic system operations, etc.Ability to read and interpret schematics related to electrical and mechanical systems.Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.This position offers an exciting opportunity for an individual looking to make a significant impact on our facility's operational efficiency while leading a dedicated team.
