Human Resources Director

Key Responsibilities
- Manage and administer employee benefits programs (health, life, supplemental insurance, OPERS, deferred compensation, workers’ compensation, and leave programs)
- Review timesheets and payroll records to ensure compliance with policies and regulations
- Maintain personnel files and ensure accuracy and confidentiality of records
- Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws (EEO, ADA, FMLA, BWC safety standards)
- Support labor contract administration and participate in union negotiations
- Advise on employee relations issues, grievances, and disciplinary actions
- Coordinate full-cycle recruitment: job postings, screening, interviewing, and hiring
- Prepare offer and rejection letters
- Facilitate new employee onboarding and orientation
- Oversee employee evaluations and performance management processes
- Coordinate staff training, development, recognition, and wellness initiatives
- Maintain and update job classifications and compensation structures
- Assist in implementing organizational policies and procedures
- Provide HR guidance to management staff
- Participate in professional organizations and committees
- Stay current with relevant technologies and workplace tools
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (HR emphasis preferred)
- Valid State of Ohio Driver’s License
- Preferred: Professional Human Resources certification such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR from Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) or HR Certification Institute (HRCI).
- Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible library experience
- Training and experience in employment law, contract law, ADA, BWC safety standards, and employee development
