As an integral member of the Business Office and Registration Team, you will fulfill a variety of administrative support functions including patient registration. Our team strives for excellence and performs in accordance with Muskegon Surgery Center's Mission and Vision.
Relying on your experience in healthcare operations and customer service, you will provide the highest quality patient experiences and contribute to team goals. Your strong customer service skills, computer proficiency and time management will contribute to your success in this role.
Required Experience:
Minimum of one year of experience in a similar healthcare role
High school diploma/GED
Shift: Days, Monday-Friday, 9:00 am to 5:30 pm
Required Skills:
Strong computer proficiency and ability to navigate EHRs
Ability to operate standard office equipment
Typing skills of at least 50 wpm
Familiarity with medical terminology and health insurance processes
Communicate effectively with peers to achieve team goals
Proactively prioritize work with minimal supervision
Demonstrate a positive, kind and friendly attitude
Responsibilities include:
Facilitate patient registration process
Utilize computer skills for data entry, scanning, and chart prep/review
Call next day surgery patients with reminders and arrival times
Demonstrate exemplary customer service skills
Direct patients, family members, vendors, students and other visitors appropriately
Make patient pre-op reminder calls
Physical Requirements:
This position requires frequent sitting, talking, and listening. It requires intermittent standing, walking, and stooping. There is some lifting, moving, carrying, and pushing of objects that may be of little to medium weight. Work requires finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination to operate computer keyboard.
