Muse Knoxville is seeking a creative and motivated Digital Marketing Intern to support our marketing and communications team. This internship provides hands-on experience across graphic design, social media, content creation, digital campaigns, and event promotion, with opportunities to contribute to both internal and external communications.
SCHEDULE: 15–20 hours per week; Part-time, Summer. Flexible hours to accommodate schedules, with occasional evening or weekend events. Possibility of extension into the Fall Semester.
COMPENSATION: The internship is unpaid, but we are happy to work with you if you are interested in receiving academic credit.

RESPONSIBILITIES & APPROXIMATE TIME ALLOCATION:
Graphic Design & Visual Content (25%)
Create graphics for social media, digital campaigns, print materials, and events using Canva and Adobe Creative Suite.
Social Media Management (25%)
Manage social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok); schedule posts; create short-form video content; track engagement and analytics.
Content Creation (15%)
Assist in writing newsletters, promotional materials, and press content; help produce videos in coordination with other departments.
Digital Presence (10%)
Support website updates and maintenance; capture and edit photography and videography for online channels.
Event Promotion & Support (10%)
Assist in promoting events, managing event pages, and capturing content during events.
Creative Collaboration & Campaign Ideas (5%)
Participate in brainstorming sessions to improve digital presence and engagement strategies.
Advancement Support (5%)
Help create marketing materials for donor communications, impact reports, and fundraising campaigns.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Strong proficiency in graphic design tools (Primarily Canva).
Familiarity with social media platforms and digital marketing basics.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Interest in marketing, communications, and nonprofit outreach.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
Pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, Advertising, Public Relations, or a related field.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
Build a portfolio showcasing graphic design, social media, and content creation projects.
Gain practical experience in digital marketing and communications.
Learn to analyze digital data to inform creative and strategic decisions.
Develop skills in effectively communicating Muse Knoxville’s brand and mission.
