Tool & Die Maintenance - Tool Maker
Responsibilities:
Tool & Die Maintenance:
- Service, repair, and maintain all dies and tooling.
- Replace worn or broken components and verify proper stack-up, shimming, and clearance.
- Create replacement components when blueprints are outdated or unavailable.
- Collaborate with Engineering to update documentation after modifications.
- Production Support:
- Assist in job setups and debugging in the Production area.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and repeatability.
- Machine and grind backup tooling or replacement parts as needed.
- Produce perishable components (e.g., pins, rollers) including machining, heat-treating, and grinding.
Tool Room Operations:
- Operate Tool Room equipment including mills, grinders, lathes, EDMs, CNC mills, etc.
- Coordinate with the wire room as needed to complete the tooling tasks.
- Maintain organization and cleanliness using 5S principles.
Documentation & Communication:
- Maintain records for tool maintenance, repairs, and modifications.
- Submit route changes to Engineering for documentation updates.
- Complete route sheets for backup tooling and file all maintenance forms.
- Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Tool Maintenance teams.
Additional Duties:
- Follow all safety, environmental, and company policies.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED; vocational certificate or degree in machine trades preferred.
- Must have 1–3 years of experience operating Tool Room equipment.
- Proficient in reading blueprints and using precision measuring tools.
- Familiarity with punch press operations and progressive dies is a plus.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
- Ability to work in a very fast paced environment
- Ability to lift at least 25 lbs.
- Must be able to move freely across the production floor.
- Requires physical mobility, independence, and sound judgment.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and reaction time.
- Requires frequent standing, bending, lifting, and walking throughout the shift.
- Exposure to noise, dust, and metal particles in a manufacturing setting.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
- Responsibilities may change based on production needs.

- Monday to Friday (Potential Saturdays) 6AM-4:30PM
