Must possess an Associate Degree or higher in any discipline Must be an Air Force retiree with at least 20 years of active duty, including one year of service within the last three years Must provide a letter of certification from Headquarters AFJROTC. Must possess a Designated Subjects Special Subjects: JROTC credential or be currently enrolled in a program to obtain one. Must possess English Learner (EL) Authorization (Copy of EL Authorization must be attached to this application). Must have a strong desire to teach, mentor and devote time to students of the district.

Comments and Other Information

Prior successful teaching experience in a high school JROTC assignment is desired. • JROTC Instructor Certificated Salary Schedule shall be effective July 1, 2026. • JROTC instructors will receive the Minimum instructor Pay (MIP) or appropriate step and column designation on the JROTC Salary Schedule, whichever is greater. It will be up to the individual employee to notify payroll to request movement from the MIP to the District Salary Schedule or vice versa. No retroactive pay will be approved. • Beginning July 1, 2019, JROTC Instructors being paid on the District JROTC Salary Schedule will receive negotiated schedule salary increases. Those receiving Minimum Instructor Pay (MIP) will receive negotiated off schedule one-time payments only. • The JROTC Instructor salary schedule is based upon 194 workdays, comprised of the184 Certificated Teacher workdays plus 10 extra days to be used for programmatic needs to be directed in collaboration with site administration and the Senior Officer throughout the fiscal year, which would include weekends. • English Learner (EL) authorization will be required for step and column advancement on the current JROTC salary schedule. • Article 6.2.3 and 6.3.4 of the MEA CBA will not apply for JROTC instructors. Questions about salary placement on the MIP or MVUSD JROTC salary schedule can be directed to the Payroll and/or HR-Credential division.
