The JCSET Instrument Maker will function as a resource to collegiate faculty in production, repair, and maintenance of equipment necessary to conducting scientific research and class-based projects.
The JCSET Instrument Maker will function as a resource to collegiate faculty in production, repair, and maintenance of equipment necessary to conducting scientific research and class-based projects.
- The Instrument Maker will work under the supervision of the dean of the college of science, engineering and technology and will be required to work closely with college faculty and staff in the performance of duties designed to enhance the teaching/research mission of the College of Science, Engineering and Technology and the goals of Murray State University.
- The Instrument Maker will be responsible for assisting in the design, construction and troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical components and equipment for scientific investigations.
- The Instrument Maker will offer regular machine-specific training for students that require machine tool and/or rapid prototyping equipment for research or class projects.
- The Instrument Maker will train and supervise student workers in the maintenance of equipment.
- Other duties as assigned.
