What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Active Treatment position at Mur-Ci Homes, Inc.?
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Supervise and direct assigned personnel as reflected in agency table of organization. The Director of Active Treatment will directly supervise the QIDPS over the clusters and the MAC Coordinator/DAS. Will work in tandem with Co-Director to cover Co-Director’s assigned duties when not available. This may require you to operate as a Director of Operation when the department is down more than 1 Program Manager.
2. Ensure overall program consistency and compliance with applicable state and federal standards, regulations and guidelines by means of routine monitoring and observation and facilitating quality assurance.
3. Approve schedules for assigned personnel. Maintain management holiday schedules as appropriate for coverage in the department. Oversee the design and implementation of severe weather scheduling for department.
4. Provide written reports regarding administration and programmatic issues as requested.
5. Complete and conduct evaluations in a timely manner on all assigned personnel. Assure that subordinates complete evaluations as scheduled.
6. Initiate disciplinary action for all staff under direct supervision as needed. Participate in disciplinary meetings as requested. Coach and monitor that team members implement progressive discipline according to handbook, policies and procedures.
7. Provide training, direction and monitoring to staff in developing plans for persons supported including Active Treatment, Behavioral Intervention, Mental Health Support, Restrictions, Adaptive Equipment and all other functional assessments.
8. Ensure the implementation of IHPs within 30 days of a person’s admission.
9. Review the IHPs when completed by QIDP for content and development.
10. Ensure accurate documentation procedures are followed and required records are maintained for assigned personnel.
11. Report all suspected instances of abuse/neglect as specified in the policy and procedure manual.
12. Provide direction for ensure a warm, normalized home like environment in each home.
13. Assure that all safety rules and procedures are followed by assigned personnel.
14. Monitor DDMGR for Active Treatment implementation according to ICF/ID regulations. Monitor DDMGR for QIDP program implementation and statistics.
15. Receive and facilitate after hour calls regarding persons served needs or concerns within department on a rotating monthly basis.
16. Train and oversee QIDPs to assure an effective process and IHP meetings, writing, development and implementation of the IHP.
17. Participate in IDT process and coach QIDPs in the process of leading effective meetings.
18. Monitor that QIDPs complete IDTs within appropriate guidelines (weekly or sooner as indicated per need).
19. Monitor active treatment services including appropriate development and implementation of IHPs and active treatment services.
20. Utilize the Purchase Order system to reconcile purchase orders.
21. Monitor the medical records charts for appropriateness, valid documents, organization and purging of necessary documents while training and overseeing QIDPs.
22. Complete program observations for homes and community programs. Document observations in DDMGR.
23. Monitor residential staff for completing of “End of the Month” checklists and intervene when the reports are less than expected. Conduct and lead focus meetings.
24. Create and monitor systems with residential team to monitor DDMGR computer data entries such as progress notes, field trips, house management responding observations/entries made by others, Program Manager reports, QIDP entries and other expected entries as they develop.
25. Keep a current record of your management team’s birthdays, anniversaries and evaluation dates to assure they are recognized as appropriate. Coach, develop and provide feedback to those you supervise to ensure a cohesive team environment with all departments.
26. Work with the QIDPs to assure that data books are up to date, representative of current IHP, organized, in good repair, and being documented by staff as identified per program.
27. Act in behalf as the Executive Director as requested during the Executive Director’s absence.
28. Develop annual calendars for the following: IHP, holiday, AOD . Reassign management staff as changes occur to the AOD calendar.
29. Oversee, supervise and ensure positive program outcomes for the MAC and the day program. This includes ensuring the school aged children/young adults Summer Camp is overseen.
30. Communicate and work effectively with Co-Director on all Habilitation issues and concerns.
31. Work directly with other departments and promote a united team atmosphere.
32. Abide by all state, federal rules and Mur-Ci Homes Rules and Regulations.
33. Perform all other duties as required/assigned.
34. Maintain a positive work attitude.
