What are the responsibilities and job description for the College Work Study position at Munson Willliams Proctor Art Institute?
EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY LIMITED TO PRATT MUNSON STUDENTS ONLY.
If you’re looking for a way to help pay for college, the Federal Work-Study program might be a great option for you. Work-study allows students to earn money through part-time on-campus jobs, providing an opportunity to gain valuable work experience while pursuing a college degree.
Rate of pay for each Work-Study position is $16.00 per hour, and students are limited to 5 hours per week. Resumes are now being accepted for Spring 2026 Semester. Examples of the types of work performed include Clerical, Studio Monitoring, Event Preparation, IT Networking, Computer Lab Monitoring, and Design Publication.
Unlike other types of financial aid, work-study earnings are not applied directly to your tuition and fees. Students awarded work-study receive their earnings in a paycheck based on the hours worked, just like a regular job. These earnings are intended to help with day-to-day expenses and are not meant to cover larger costs like tuition and housing.
One benefit of earning income through a Federal Work-Study position is that these earnings do not count against you when completing the FAFSA form.
Federal Work-Study is funded by the federal government and is part of a student’s financial aid package. To be eligible, students must complete a FAFSA, demonstrate significant financial need, and be enrolled full-time for the current term.
To prove eligibility to work, students must provide Pratt Munson with documentary evidence of identity (such as a driver’s license, Pratt Munson Student ID, or government photo ID) AND U.S. citizenship (such as a U.S. passport, social security card, or birth certificate with a seal). Copies are not acceptable. If you need a duplicate of your Social Security card, you can request one from the Social Security Administration Office.
