What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veterinary Technician position at Munhall Veterinary Hospital, LLC?
Munhall Veterinary Hospital is looking to hire a certified or experienced veterinary technician with at least 2 years experience . This is a full time position, technician will be required to work at least 32-38 hours a week, must be available to work days/nights and one Saturday a month. Compensation is negotiable and will be determined based on work experience and skill level.
Munhall Veterinary Hospital is looking for a head technician that is personable, professional, and knowledgeable in both veterinary medicine as well as customer service. The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Work in cooperation with the veterinarians to provide a thorough and efficient client/patient visit.
- Manage and direct other veterinary technicians and make sure all duties are being completed according to hospital protocols and policies.
- Perform any preliminary outpatient procedures such as: preliminary history taking, TPR’s, and starting any necessary procedures such as radiographs, lab work, bandage changes, IV catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, etc.
- Perform outpatient procedures for office calls and technician appointments such as blood draws, injections, nail trims, ear cleanings, anal gland expressions, bandage changes, suture removals and drain removals.
- Check in and out clients, properly enter charges for all treatments, diagnostics and services provided to the client. Be able to process cash and credit card payments via computer system.
- Ability to manage a multi line phone system.
- Perform all other additional duties required by management, including but not limited to restocking exam, treatment and surgery rooms.
- Must be able to lift 50lbs, work on feet all day
Technician will be required to work when scheduled and to be on time. Scrubs are to be worn at work and to be properly laundered by employee. Upon hiring, employee will be subject to a 90-day probationary period where the employee will be evaluated on timeliness, skills, and professionalism. After the 90-day probationary period and a permanent position is offered, the employee will be eligible for paid vacation/sick leave, medical benefits, and retirement benefits. The employee will report to the veterinarian(s) and office manager and is expected to follow hospital rules/protocols.
