Summary

The Bartender/Concessions Attendant is responsible for delivering exceptional guest service while supporting all aspects of food and beverage operations at Diamond Lake, including concession service, beer and wine sales, and full bar operations during private rentals and events. This position prepares and serves food and beverages in compliance with appropriate laws and standards; maintains inventory and cleanliness of work areas; and completes daily opening and closing procedures for both indoor and outdoor spaces. This position works collaboratively with staff to ensure successful public operations and private functions. A successful employee will provide flexible availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays while upholding a professional, safe, and welcoming environment for all guests.

Qualifications – Education, Experience and Training

Minimum 21 years old. High School Diploma or Equivalent. Basic knowledge of beer, wine, and spirits and familiarity with standard drink recipes. Gain or maintain current Basset certification. Gain or maintain current Food Handler certification. Restaurant, bar, and/or event facility experience preferred. CPR, First Aid, and AED Certification is required, and if not certified, must become certified.

Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Functions

• Provide professional, courteous, and welcoming customer service to all guests. Speak clearly and listen attentively to guests and other employees.
• Respond to guest inquiries regarding, including but not limited to menu items, pricing, facility operations, and event or rental information.
• Resolve routine guest concerns and escalate issues to supervisor when appropriate.
• Verify identification and ensure compliance with age restrictions (21 ) for all guests purchasing alcohol.
• Monitor guest alcohol consumption and refuse service when appropriate, following BASSET guidelines.
• Obtain and remember beverage recipes.
• Receive, prepare, and serve drink orders from patrons or staff of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks in accordance with standard recipes.
• Manage concession food orders, as needed.
• Operate concession equipment safely and properly.
• Comply with all portion sizes, quality standards, department rules, policies, and procedures.
• Record food and drink orders accurately with district POS system, collect payments, and make change if needed.
• Balance and finalize POS sales with revenue.
• Assist with full bar setup for private rentals, including item staging, glassware, and bar tools.
• Prepare and serve beer, wine, and approved mixed drinks according to district bar package standards.
• Maintain accurate event-specific alcohol tracking and inventory tracking.
• Support event hosts and coordinate with event staff to support successful events.
• Break down and secure bar areas following event conclusion.
• Maintain a professional appearance and elevated service standards during private functions.
• Unlock and prepare facility for daily operations in accordance with opening checklist.
• Set up indoor service counter, stations, and prep areas.
• Prepare outdoor seating areas, including: arranging tables and chairs, umbrella deployment if needed, trash receptacle setup, ensure signage displays are properly positioned.
• Store food products properly in compliance with food safety standards.
• Break down and secure seating areas as directed.
• Remove trash and recycling to designated areas.
• Ensure facility doors, windows, storage rooms, and equipment are secured before, during, and at end of shifts.
• Monitor areas for litter, spills, or safety hazards.
• Support setup and teardown, including tables, chairs, and basic staging, as requested.
• Complete closing checklist documentation.
• Maintain stock of daily operations bar & cooler.
• Maintain a clean bar area.
• Maintain stock of concession food.
• Maintain clean food storage, preparation, and serving areas.
• Observe state and local liquor laws and food service laws.
• Maintain compliance with local health department regulations.
• Maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees and the public
• Maintain current Food Handler certification.
• Maintain availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Maintain the ability to work both public operation shifts and private events.
• Perform duties to cross-train in concessions, bar service, and support functions.
• Perform other related duties, as assigned.
