Quality Manager

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Quality Assurance Manager to own the day-to-day responsibilities managing and maintaining an ISO9001-2015 compliant Quality System. The Quality Manager will be responsible to facilitate the effective use, management, audit and review of the Quality Management System. Success will be measured through maintaining certification and achieving agreed Quality Objectives.

Responsibilities

• Ensure ISO9001-2015 conformance of the quality management system is established, maintained and continuously improved
• Maintain ISO9001-2015 policies, procedures, and documentation to meet accreditation requirements.
• Ensure changes to the QMS are planned and integrated to maintain the QMS
• Ensure a customer focus in the QMS
• Ensure plant processes are aligned with QMS, including new work or plant-based improvements
• Support QMS process implementation with the plant or functional teams
• Own and prepare for Audits (External, Internal), including acting as a point of contact for the certification bodies and auditors
• Support Process Owners in ensuring that QMS risks are identified, regularly assessed, and appropriately mitigated
• Process Owner for Document and Information management and other processes as required
• Provides the necessary training to employees as required to meet ISO9001-2015 standards.
• The position may also include quality management responsibilities for our sister company in Webster, SD. Some minimal travel may be necessary for quality management of this location.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (preferably in engineering, supply chain management, or business) or equivalent experience on the job
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an ISO certified manufacturing facility working with or supporting a management system
• Experience in leading and managing audits to ISO 9001, requirements
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and multicultural skills
• Excellent prioritization, planning, and organizational skills with proven track record of consistently finishing projects, producing results, and driving sustainment
• Demonstrated problem solving skills, both system and process based
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
• Proven ability to influence across functions and leadership

Certification and Licensing Preferred, but not Required:

• Certified AS9100 Auditor
• Certified Quality Engineer or Quality Manager (ASQ)
• Continuous Improvement skillset

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Skilled in:

• Effective oral and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
• Strong ability to operate basic machines, read instructions and apply appropriate procedures

Ability to:

• Communicate in English (both written and oral) as it relates to the job
• Adapt to changing work environment, competing demands, able to deal with frequent change, delays, and unexpected events
• Communicate and work with all levels of staff in various departments

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Muncie, IN 47302: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
• Minimal travel (as needed) to our sister company in Webster, SD may be required in the future

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Required)

Experience:

• 2 years of experience in Quality Assurance and/or Quality Control in a manufacturing environment
• Team leadership experience required.
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001, TS16949, or other quality system standard.
• Strong familiarity with tools such as SPC, Six Sigma, FMEA, Root Cause Analysis and CAPA.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and quality management software, familiarity with ERP systems is a plus.
• Experience with mechanical inspection tools and equipment (i.e. calipers)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
