Director of Specialized Lending

Role:
Supervise staff and activities associated with indirect/member engagement/student lending. Assists members and staff with consumer lending needs, analyzing loan requests and making credit decisions based on lending policy.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

• Supervise Indirect Lending Operations- loan support team, and indirect buyers, loan application review to ensure organizational policies and goals are achieved.
• Supervise Engagement Team. Makes decision to approve, deny, or forward the loan request to higher levels for decision.
• Ongoing training and development of indirect & engagement team staff.
•  Establishes the terms and conditions of an approved loan and reviews them with the member.
• Keeps informed of current trends in consumer credit.
• Follows current loans to ensure compliance with terms and coordinates with collections.
• Participates in sales development activities.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Performance Measurements:
1. Provide informed, prompt, and accurate service and support to all members and associates by accurately processing, decisioning, and relaying loan decisions to members.
2. Ensure all documentation is completed with accuracy.
3. Meet or exceed assigned loan volume (dollars and/or numbers).
4. Maintain a 60-day delinquency rate at or below 1% of loan portfolio.
5. Maintain a charge-off rate of no more than 0.75% of loan portfolio.
6. Meet engagement growth expectations
7. Meet or exceed the minimum established incentive goal each month.
8. Troubleshoot and resolve members and internal inquiries in a timely, friendly, accurate manner.
9. Effectively supervises and coordinates daily dealer services buying and processing operations.

Knowledge and Skills:

Experience: Eight to ten years of similar or related experience.

Education: (1) A two-year college degree, or (2) completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or (3) completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or (4) job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program.

Interpersonal Skills: Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is of a personal or sensitive nature. Motivating, influencing, and/or training others is key at this level. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others.
