Role:
The Compliance Operations Specialist supports the Credit Union's Compliance Management System (CMS) through the administration of Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)/Anti-Money Laundering (AML) processes, regulatory compliance operations, staff support functions, and compliance-related change management initiatives. This position is responsible for assisting in the monitoring and administration of BSA activities, responding to internal compliance inquiries, supporting regulatory implementation efforts, assisting with compliance-related training initiatives, and reviewing new products and services for regulatory compliance considerations. This role works closely with departments throughout the Credit Union to promote regulatory compliance, operational consistency, and proactive risk mitigation while supporting the overall objectives of the Compliance Department. To be successful in this position, applicant should have strong analytical thinking skills, be able to maintain meticulous records, and be able to exhibit tact and professionalism in communications with members, staff and other outside parties are required.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Administer and support the Credit Union’s BSA/AML compliance program through the monitoring, investigation, documentation, and management of suspicious activity, transactional reviews, regulatory reporting, high-risk member reviews, enhanced due diligence activities, OFAC monitoring, and related case management responsibilities.
- Serve as a compliance resource for Credit Union staff by managing and responding to compliance-related inquiries submitted through the compliance help desk or other communication channels, researching applicable regulatory requirements and internal policies, providing operational guidance, escalating complex or higher-risk concerns as appropriate, and tracking recurring questions or trends to support ongoing compliance improvement efforts and
- operational consistency.
- Monitor and analyze regulatory changes, audit findings, examination results, and operational trends to identify implementation requirements and training opportunities. Assist with regulatory change implementation and the development of compliance-related training materials, guidance, and staff communications to support ongoing regulatory compliance and awareness throughout the organization.
- Participate in the review of new or modified products, services, operational processes, and initiatives to identify regulatory compliance requirements, operational impacts, and potential risks by evaluating related disclosures, workflows, procedures, and implementation considerations while collaborating with internal departments to support compliant execution and ongoing regulatory adherence.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

6. Contributes positively to departmental and organizational compliance culture through collaboration, communication, and proactive engagement.
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience: 1 year in compliance, BSA/AML, fraud prevention, audit, financial institution operations or a related field preferred. Knowledge of laws, procedures, and other relevant financial regulatory standards.
Education: Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field.
Interpersonal Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Other Skills: Proficiency in MS Office. Strong analytical, critical thinking, documenting, and reporting skills. Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy. Self-motivated with excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
