Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Biomedical Equipment Technician I to join our team in Omaha, NE. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and calibration of biomedical equipment to ensure the safety and effectiveness of medical devices used in patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on a variety of biomedical equipment.
- Calibrate and test medical devices to ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications and regulatory standards.
- Document all maintenance and repair activities accurately in the equipment management system.
- Respond promptly to equipment malfunctions and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to understand equipment needs and provide technical support.
- Maintain inventory of parts and supplies necessary for equipment repair and maintenance.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulatory requirements related to biomedical equipment.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with new technologies.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree or technical certification in Biomedical Equipment Technology or related field preferred.
- Basic knowledge of electronic, mechanical, and computer systems as they relate to biomedical equipment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and respond to emergency repair requests as needed.
- Previous experience in biomedical equipment maintenance or repair is a plus but not required.
