Test Technician
Summary: The test technician is responsible for following detailed work instructions to test units prior to leaving the Power Department to ensure product performance in compliance with customer and quality standards. This includes documenting test values per customer specifications and reading electrical schematics to troubleshoot failures in collaboration with supervisor and other technicians.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Inspects and tests completed units to ensure functionality and adherence to product specifications
- Identifies failure points and collaborates with supervisor and solder repair technicians to troubleshoot units
- Communicates test procedure concerns with supervisor
- Apply fundamental electrical concepts to diagnose unit failures
- Reads PCB schematics and assembly drawings
- Follows step-by-step work instructions to complete tests on a variety of products and records accurately
- Uses various test equipment such as multimeters, power supplies, and oscilloscopes and reports any equipment malfunctions with supervisor
- Familiar with basic hand tools and power tools
- Maintains accurate test records and documentation
- Maintains and clean and safe work area by participating in 5S practices
- All other duties as assigned by management.
Education and Experience:
- IPC-610 or equivalent certification
- Micro-electromechanical systems associate’s degree or higher
- Experience with ESD control program
- Ability to interpret blueprints/shop drawing aids.
- Understands and supports company policies and procedures.
- Excellent Attendance
- Background check deemed acceptable by company
- Sit, stand and walk for 1 – 10 hours per day.
- High mental and visual acuity while in coordination with manual dexterity for prolonged periods of time.
- Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen.
Work Site Environment:
- Ability to work in a 55 – 85-degree Fahrenheit work environment.
